In the summer of1939, Vilmos Bálint, parish priest, holds an inauguration thanksgiving service in the courtyard of the villa of István Cseke (owner of Szentimre).
At that time, the construction of the chapel had already been planned in the area offered free of charge by Dr Gábor Sándor, lawyer and Dr Bénin Nagy, chief prosecutor. And although considerable money and timber had already accumulated outside the property, according to a 1944 report:
"The parish priests who spend their holidays here say Mass every day, in which the devout people of the bath enthusiastically participate, and there are also many daily sacrificers. Until the chapel was built by the common owner or village, the altar was erected from a pub table in one of the closed corridors of the restaurant, where bells are replaced by beer glasses and ampoles by decimal bottles. Flowers are also placed on the altar every day in large wine glasses ...’
