First of all, these substances have a healing effect, thanks to their physical and chemical properties, they maintain, strengthen or even rebuild the state of health, working capacity and mental and physical balance in the individual.
  • Le Puits de Vendelné

    En marchant dans les montagnes du sud de Harghita, nous menons souvent au puits du Vendelné. Sûrement tous ceux qui ont déjà puisé dans la source (ou qui n'en ont entendu parler) se sont demandés pourquoi une source si faiblement coulante et à faible débit est appelée un puits, et surtout qui aurait pu être cette Mme Vendel, d'après laquelle une source a été nommée?

    More, than 10 volcanic gas emanations are known in the zone, many of them are regularly used in moffettas: Vermet valley, Aladar, Pârâului Mare.

    • O2 0 - 10%

    Radioactivity resulted from the radon (Rn 222) in the gas is 0,340 nci/litru.

    Local gastronomic points - ‘Muskátlis’

    One of the four local gastronomic points of Harghita county is located in the Smelly Bath of Sâncrăieni and is called Muskátlis.

    Surrounded by pine forests, medicinal springs, mofettas and ozone-rich air at 1,250 metres above sea level, the Muskátlis Holiday House offers not only accommodation, but also a traditional culinary experience, including famous homemade bread, pot-roasted goulash or the ever-present chimney cake. Of course, there are also cheeses or meats from mountain farms, which come directly from local producers in the area. All this in a wonderful landscape.
  • Pucioasa Spa - Sântimbru

    Local health-resort, west from Sâncrăieni in Southern Harghita mountains, at 1250-1350 m above sea level. Famous for natural mineral water springs and volcanic gas emanations, used in mofettas.

    Accesspoints

    On railroad line 400, between Braşov and Ciceu, station Sâncrăieni, and with local buses 14 west from there on country road.

    Mineral waters

    Low mineralized carbonated water springs (around 15), with yields around 1 l/sec at temperature below +12 C degrees. Used as table waters.

    Medical facilities

    Medical facility with minimal assistance, warm baths with 12 bathtubes.

    Accomodation and catering

    In a few lodges a total of 74 places in the summer. Eventually in one of many self-ovned lodges.
